CITROEN

Since 1919, the name Citroen has been synonymous with Innovation, Design, Adventure and Flair. The Marque's history is packed with a multitude of events that have left their mark on the automotive industry in Europe and around the world. With some 10,000 sales outlets around the world, Citroen now generates 70% of its sales outside France and its international ambitions are clear. To realise those ambitions, Citroen has put together its most attractive and complete range ever of vehicles and is present in all the main segments of the automotive market. At the turn of the century, Xsara Picasso entered the frame, combining the elegance and dynamic performance of a saloon with the moduler design of a people-carrier. Innovation has always been a cornerstone of Citroen philosophy as demonstrated by the recent introduction of the HDI (high pressure direct-injection) technology. Citroen has also invested in a range of electric, LPG and hybrid models, as well as innovating in the field of automotive telematics.

HONDA

Company founder Soichiro Honda was a mechanic who, after working at Art Shokai, developed his own design for piston rings in 1938. He attempted to sell them to Toyota. He constructed a new facility to supply Toyota, but soon after, during World War II, the Honda piston manufacturing facilities were almost completely destroyed.
From such a lowly beginning, with such a major setback, it is astonishing that Honda has passed Nissan to become the second largest seller of cars in Japan.
This is an achievement that would have been impossible without the design, innovation and build quality that is needed to provide the reliability and driving experience that customers demand year after year.
Remember that Calder Motor Company has strong ties to the Japanese motor industry, and years of experience importing used cars that are far beyond the quality and value for money that is normally available in the UK market place.

LAND ROVER

Originally the term Land Rover referred to one specific vehicle, a pioneering civilian all-terrain utility vehicle launched on April 30, 1948, at the Amsterdam Motor Show, but was later used as a brand for several distinct models, all four-wheel drive.
Starting out as part of The Rover Car Company or Rover, Land Rovers were designed and manufactured as a range of four-wheel drive vehicles under a succession of owners, including British Leyland, British Aerospace and BMW.
The marque is one of the longest lived SUV brands -- the only brand which is older is the U.S. Jeep, originally trademarked by Willys-Overland Corporation.

VOLKSWAGEN

Volkswagen's relationship with the UK dates back to 1952, when the first two Beetles were sold. In 1953 Volkswagen Motors Ltd became the official UK importer, and the brand went from strength to strength. The Passat arrived in 1973, the Golf and Scirocco were imported in 1974 while the last Beetle built in Europe arrived in the UK in 1978.
Volkswagen also centralised its operations in 1978, and moved into its new £9.5 million headquarters in Blakelands, Milton Keynes. From Blakelands the company controls sourcing, marketing and distribution of all vehicles and parts in the UK and provides a host of support services to both its retailers and customers.

Today Volkswagen UK, as part of the Volkswagen Group, is one of the country's largest importers of vehicles, employing nearly 600 people nationwide, with the Volkswagen brand employing 174 in Blakelands alone. Volkswagen also has 260 retailers throughout the UK.
